To ask the Minister of Finance to detail any discussions that have taken place with the UK Government regarding (i) funding for Casement Park; and (ii) capital support to other sports in Northern Ireland.

ANSWER
I have had several discussions with both the NIO and Treasury in relation to funding for Casement Park. This includes meetings with the Secretary of State, Hilary Benn, as well as with the new Chief Secretary to the Treasury and his predecessor.
In these meetings I reiterated my desire to see the project move forward as quickly as possible and emphasised to the British Government the need for it to live up to its commitments in relation to the funding of Casement Park.
As part of these meetings I also highlighted the Executive’s wider capital requirements and discussed potential costs relating to the 2035 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
