To ask the Minister for the Economy for her assessment of achieving the target of 80 per cent electricity consumption from renewable sources by 2030.

One of my four critical objectives for the Economy is to reduce carbon emissions; generating sufficient renewable electricity is key to facilitate this change.

We must build on our previous success in renewables development and the Executive needs to take a collaborative, whole system approach to facilitate delivery of the 80% by 2030 target.

Whilst my Department has legislative responsibility for the target, collaboration across departments and with wider stakeholders, including industry, will be essential to the successful delivery of this target.
