Answer
The Department of Education does not collect information on the subject taught by teachers and therefore is unable to provide the number of modern languages teachers employed in the last five years.
The General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland (GTCNI) is currently running its data collection which includes the main subject taught by teachers and they expect to have this information available by March 2025.
