Answer
The Curriculum Taskforce Advisory Committee (TAC), established in August last year, has been leading and directing the reform of the curriculum. Supported by 13 subject working groups, which are primarily made up of local teachers, academics and subject specialists, TAC’s role is to guide the development of a new, coherent, connected and knowledge rich curriculum for Northern Ireland.
The TAC has met on 5 occasions and provides direct support and guidance to the working groups which were established in November. Work is progressing as planned under the Committee’s strategic direction. My officials continue to work closely with the Committee to support this programme.
I expect to receive the draft curriculum framework by the end of March 2026, and it is my ambition that phased implementation will begin in September 2027.
