Answer
The Belfast Health and Social Care Trust has advised as follows:
The programme for the remediation works aims to provide early occupation to Level 2 of the building in March 2027.
The remainder of the remediation works, including a new domestic water system to the neo-natal unit, are not scheduled to be completed until November 2027. Following completion of the remediation works, there will be a period of Trust commissioning before the building can be made fully operational. It should be noted that these programme dates are contingent on the success of the remediation works and the Trust’s assurance of the safety of the water system on completion of the works.
The safety of new mothers and their babies remains our main priority. Our staff continue to provide excellent care to women and babies in the Royal Jubilee Maternity Hospital and service delivery has not been impacted as a result of the delay.
